OILING
SYSTEM
The oiling is achieved with the use of an extended shroud system in stock housings and a ring gear
scraper/cup
(patent rights reserved) attached to the pinion support.

The scraper and "cup" supply oil to the pinion bearings at all speeds and the shroud supplies added oil
to the pocket bearing
(patent rights reserved) and pinion bearings primarily at high speed.

Oil is also added to the cup and pocket bearing as the ring and pinion mesh together.

In front applications the oil scraper/cup
(patent rights reserved) will not be there as it would block oil flow.
There are two different oil fill level plugs depending on front or rear application. The lower plug is for
rear applications and the higher plug is for front applications.
Oil baffle pictured below to keep oil in the front bearing longer
The bulge in the housing from the factory acts like a shroud helping to keep
the oil on the ring gear. The added baffle acts like a continuation of the
shroud.
The baffle also redirects oil flying off sideways into the pinion and pocket
bearing
(patent pending) area.
These next pictures are of the oil scraper system (patent rights
reserved)
, which will only be used for rear applications.

This baffle is sometimes NOT included because it is NOT needed in a lot of
aftermarket housings including the SPIDERTRAX housing.
